The Liangmai Development Committee, a subcommittee of Liangmai Naga Council (LNC), has congratulated Kentaliu Newmai for publishing a book called Tanking 'Tanking' (Costumes and Artefacts of Liangmai community) and Kizanliu Newmai for translating 'Madhavi' to Liangmai and publishing it.
"Both these books were released on September 8, 2 018 at Liangmai Baptist Church Imphal, Dewlahlane by Awangbou Newmai, MLA of Tamei assembly constituency," said the Committee.
LDC said it appreciates the two lady writers for their immense hard work in publishing these "invaluable" books.
"Promoting the literature of Liangmai and enriching it are highly appreciated, and that, the works surely will help Liangmai researchers", the Committee said.
It then encouraged the two writers to produce more such books in future.
LDC also conveyed its appreciation to MLA Awangbou for taking the initiative to re-open SBI Tamei and also for installing R Tale Memorial Women's Market at Tamei.
"These vital developments are the need of the hour for Tamei area and Liangmais in particular for overall growth," the Committee added.
LDC finally conveyed special thanks to local MLA Awangbou Newmai and also appealed the public to cooperate with the leaders who are initiating developmental works in the area.
