Senapati, August 19 2018:
The Southern Tahamzam Naga Council (STNC) held a 'leaders consultative meeting' on August 18, 2018 at Mayangkhang village and reaffirmed its support and endorsement to the 'Framework Agreement' signed between the Government of India and NSCN-IM, reports NNN .
According to Ch Tabamwi, general secretary, STNC, the consultative meeting also held that the 117 Naga villages comprising 12 Naga tribes under this council are the most suppressed Nagas by "the dominant community (Kukis)" as they are being "placed under Kangpokpi administrative block" .
"Our only hope to free from such suppression is the Indo-Naga political solution," the consultative meeting also said.
The meeting then condemned "those elements within and outside the Naga community who are trying to hijack the hardearned "Naga political solution." Therefore the consultative meeting resolved to "act befittingly if any individual or organisation within our jurisdiction tries to disturb the inking of Naga final agreement" .
The consultative meeting then resolved that the council will continue to organize wide range of consultations in preparation for the Framework Agreement.
