Uncle shot niece over land

Imphal, December 18 2012:
An 11-year-old girl was badly injured after her uncle shot at her over a family land feud that took place early Tuesday at Thoubal Khekman in Manipur.
She was rushed to Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Imphal and her condition is stated to be critical.
The victim has been identified as one Moijingmayum Lilycha, 11, daughter of Md Yusub Ali and the violent incident occurred around 7:45 at Thoubal Khekman Amakcham Leikai about 3 km south of Thoubal district Police Station.
Lilycha suffered multiple bullet injuries in the shooting and later she was taken to RIMS with bullet wounds in her buttock, belly and right arm.
Her condition is stated to be critical.
Reports said initially Lilycha's brother named Farish Khan, 19, had a squabble with his uncle Anjob Ali, 55, over a family land dispute at about 7 am at a tea stall located around 100 metre from the victim's house.
However, the locals soothed them.
The two families have a long feud over a land.
However, around 7:40 am, Ajob Ali's son Wahidur Rahaman, 28, opened fire from his house using a double barrel gun at the house of Farish Khan when bullets hit Lilycha.
Rahaman and his family members are now at large.
The two houses located closely.
A team of Thoubal police station hurried to the site and reviewed the situation there.
A case has been registered with the police station regarding the shooting incident.
