Combined team seizes huge IEDs

Imphal, October 18 2012:
A combined team of Imphal East, West and Thoubal Police Commandos recovered IEDs which were found fitted in a Maruti Eeco Van at Kongba Laishram Leikai area today.
According to police report, acting on a specific information regarding assembling of IEDs to be used by UGs in Imphal area to attack on security personnel, a combined team of Imphal East, West and Thoubal Police Commandos raided the house of one Md Rajak (40), s/o late Md Sanouwar Ali of Lilong bazaar and recovered eight numbers of detonators and one remote control from his possession.
As follow up action, the combined team also raided the house of one Hidangmayum Dhananjoy (37), s/o H Kalachand of Kongba Laishram Leikai, Imphal East and recovered one Maruti Eeco Van bearing registration number AS01AZ-2653 which was already fitted with two powerful IEDs, the report added.
The report further informed that during preliminary investigation, H Dhananjoy disclosed that he is a van driver doing service between Imphal and Moreh.
While having lunch in a hotel at Moreh, he was called out by one Iboyaima Luwang of PREPAK (PRO) and asked him to deliver the IEDs upto Imphal to one Md Razak of Lilong for which he would be paid Rs 15,000 and assured that there is nothing to fear as all lines have been cleared up to Imphal.
The combined police also reportedly recovered a large number of 100 ml Lupicof Codin bottles from the van.
