Poverty reduction plan mela held

Imphal, July 18 2022: Khurai Nandeibam Leikai Gram Panchayat and Lingjel Village Level Federation, Khurai Nandeibam Sajor Puthem Leikai jointly organised a village poverty reduction plan achievement plan mela on the theme 'Convergence towards enhancing entitlement accessibility' at Khurai Tharo Devi community hall on Monday.

The mela supported by Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission (MSRLM), Panchayati Raj Institute and CBO Convergence Project was attended by Khurai Nandeibam Leikai Zila Parishad ZP member Athokpam Okendro, Khurai Nandeibam Leikai Gram Panchayat pradhan Yumnam Chitra and Heingang CD Block BDO Elangbam Amuthoi among others.

Speaking at the programme, Yumnam Chitra explained that the mela will provide huge benefits to the people of the area and further informed that registration of birth and death certificates, Covid-19 vaccination, making of labour card, health card and other welfare benefits provided by the government could be availed from the mela.

In addition, free medical treatment facility is given and local products made by self-help groups showcased in the mela, she added.

In all, 20 stalls showcased local products at the mela.
