Skill upgradation training begins

In order to impart vocational skills, create awareness and educate the women on various job oriented skills, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Thoubal today opened a 3-month long Skill Upgradation Training Programmes (SUTP) in the trade of Woolen Crafts for Muslim Minority women at Santhel, Thoubal District.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Ch.
Basanta Singh highlighted the objective of organising the training programme and expressed hope that such training programme would help the participants to improve their vocational skills and enable them for self-sustainable in the near future.
Mrs.Nazima, General Secretary of United Manipur Muslim Women Development Organisation (UMMWDO), Manipur thanked the Nehru Yuva Kendra Thoubal for organising such programme for the benefit of the unemployed backward Muslim women.
She also appealed all the trainees to be more punctual during the course of the training.
Making/weaving/knitting of Muffler, Woollen Bag, Woolen Hat, Clothes, Woolen Table Cover, Flower, Woolen Shawl, etc would be trained during the 3-month long vocational training programme.
In all 20 Muslim Women are taking part in the training programme being organised by Organisation for Development (OFD), Santhel.
