Imphal, June 17 2022:
On the eve of the June 18 uprising anniversary, the armed National Revolutionary Front, Manipur (NRFM) has extended revolutionary salute and honour to the 18 martyrs who laid down their lives for the cause of safeguarding the territorial integrity of Manipur and also to those injured in the movement.
According to an NRFM statement, scores of people came out to die for their motherland when the ceasefire between NSCN-IM and Government of India (GOI) was extended to Manipur by inserting the clause 'without territorial limit' in the Bangkok Declaration signed between them on June 14, 2001.When the 'enemy' attempted to break apart Manipur with various hidden strategies, people of the land Confronted such nefarious attempts, said the NRFM statement issued by its information and publicity secretary Sanajaoba Meitei.
According to the NRFM statement, Government of India has been adopting various tactics to suppress the revolutionary movement being waged for restoration of Manipur's lost sovereignty and even using armed groups which are holding ceasefire with them in executing the divisive agenda.
India's diabolic divisive policy is similar to what the USA did during the Vietnam War by dividing the country into South and North Vietnam, the statement said, adding that time would not be far when Nagaland could see the demand for Angami land, Ao land and separate state for Konyak and Lotha as result of India's divisive agenda.
Instead of trying to bring a solution through peace talks, GOI has been trying to create problems and dishonouring people of the region, the outfit said, adding that June 18 uprising was a fallout of India's gambit against lives of the people.
India continues to apply both open and secret policies to suppress people of Manipur and many prominent personalities including the titular king have fallen into India's trap, the NRFM statement said and maintained that the issue which ignited June 18 incident is yet to be settled other than being suppressed.
The issue is still alive and might explode anytime and people must be aware of it and remain vigilant about it, the statement added.
