Security Forces arrest 7 UGs

Imphal, March 17 2012:
At least seven underground cadres of different underground groups have been arrested by security forces in the state from various places during the last 48 hours.
Thoubal district police commandos arrested four cadres of KCP Wanglen group during a search operation launched at Wangjing area at around 3.10 pm of March 16, informed a release issued by SP Thoubal district.
The arrested cadres have been identified as Chongtham Nandabira (18) alias Kengba alias Nanda Singh s/o Late Ch Ingocha, Khuraijam Abungcha (18) alias Prem alias Rakesh s/o Kh Shamu Singh, Angom Ajay Singh (16) s/o A Ibopishak Singh all from Moreh Ward No 7 and Meishnam Abungcha (18) alias Amurei Singh s/o Late M Lukhoi Singh of Moreh Ward No 9 respectively.
During preliminary interrogation the arrested cadres disclosed that they are active members of KCP Wanglen group and working in recruiting cell of the group, added the release.
With the arrest, the district police commandos were able to rescue one Soibam Ronald Singh (13) s/o S Godhador Singh of Wangjing Awang Leikai.
It further mentioned that S Ronald was about to leave for Myanmar to join the KCP group.
The rescued person was later handed over to his parents through Child Welfare Committee, Thoubal unit.
In yet another incident, Thoubal district police commandos also nabbed a cadre of KCP Khaba group identified as Md Rizwan (20) s/o Late Md Habibur Rahaman of Lilong Haoreibi Awang Leikai from Lilong Haoreibi Hangamthabi area at around 7.20 pm of March 16 .
One demand letter of the said KCP group was recovered from the possession of the arrested person, added the release.
Meantime, SP Thoubal district informed all the parents and guardians to properly take care of their young ones as the recruitment of children is actively going on by UG groups operating across the border with promise of money, mobile phones and better lifestyle, the release added.
Meanwhile, troops of 27 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector apprehended a PREPAK cadre on March 16 when operation was launched at Wabagai Tera Pishak, said a PRO IGAR (S) release that identified the arrested person as Loukram Momocha Singh (28) s/o L Ibomcha of Wabagai Tera Pishak.
The captive has reportedly been handed over to Kakching police station.
In yet another incident, 15 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector and 23 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector launched joint operation in Tinpibung of Thoubal district and recovered cache of warlike stores from an unoccupied house on March 16 .
The recoveries include one 12 Bore Gun, one AK 47 magazine, two 9 mm Pistol magazine, four 9 mm live rounds, eight .22mm live rounds, 400 grams of Gun powder, five meters of Cortex and huge quantity of country made weapon manufacturing items, the release informed adding that items have been handed over to Litan Police station.
In an unrelated incident, 43 AR under the aegis of the Red Shield Division apprehended a Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA) cadre yesterday identified as SS Pvt Arik Chakma alias Arik, s/o Sukru Chakma, of Manja vill, Karbi Anglong district, Assam.
The individual is a registered cadre of T Gamnom camp.
The apprehendee has been handed over to Imphal West Police Station.
