Weather Station of CSIR inaugurated

Along with releasing a bulletin of DNA Clubs for Schools, the Weather Observation Station, Modular Bio-Chemical Laboratory of CSIR North East Institute of Science and Technology Branch Laboratory, Lamphelpat was inaugurated today.
The inaugural ceremony held at the premises of CSIR-NEIST Branch Laboratory, Lamphelpat was attended by L Nandakumar, MLA of Uripok AC as Chief Guest; Dr D Ramaiah, Director of CSIR NEIST, Jorhat as functional President while Dr PG Rao, Pro-Chancellor of University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya and former Director of CSIR-NEIST, Jorhat and Dr BG Unni, Chief Scientist of CSIR-NEIST, Jorhat as Guests of Honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Nandakumar stated that the laboratory has now become a full fledge laboratory equipped with latest modern equipments and expressed hope that it will provide valuable service to people of the State.
The MLA also assured that he himself will intervene into the land demarcation controversy of the office for early solution.
Dr Ramaiah said the branch laboratory will play an important role throughout the north east India.
He also underlined on the need for public support and co-operation in this regard.
