Five from State participate in AWMUN conference

Imphal, November 16 2019:
Asia World Model United Nations-III was held under the theme Implementation Of World's Agenda 2030 from November 13 to 16 at Bali, Indonesia.
The Asia World Model United Nations (AWMUN) is a simulation of an actual United Nations conference, where students/youths are tasked with solving global issues through research, drafting, lobbying and debate to pass suitable resolutions.
Organised by the International Global Network, the conference was attended by 1,228 delegates from 78 countries.
197 delegates from India including 5 from Manipur - Yumkhaibam Azhar (OIC, Maldives), Telexy Rajkumari (UNFCCC, Japan), Chanamthabam Ronika (UNHRC, Nepal), H Vingaolou (WTO, Chile), Pouguanglin Kamei (UNDP, Yemen) participated in the conference.
The conference began with Bali Governor I Made Mangku Pastika as chief guest.
United Nations Information Centre, Jakarta, Ministry of Environment, Indonesia and AWMUN-III delegates also cleaned Mertasari beach, Bali.
The AWMUN-II 2018 was held at Prince Palace Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand from Jan 30 to Feb 2 .
