Imphal, October 15 2013: The 24th Loktak Celebration Day will be held on 18th October at the Loktak Lairembi Ground, Thanga.

The celebration would be organized by Loktak Lake Development Organization under the theme "Loktak is our treasure, it is our soul, it is our mother, save Loktak, save Manipur" informed Heishnam Sanayaima, Ex- Minister, President of the Loktak Lake Development Organization during a press conference at Manipur Press Club here today.

Sanayaima further said that the main highlights of the celebration would include worshipping of Loktak Lairembi after collecting sacred water from eshai mapal, releasing of fingerlings into Loktak, speech from resource persons on the issues of Loktak Lake and presentation of cultural items by people of the surrounding villages, etc.
