Imphal, April 15 2018:
Road to London 2018, a caravan trip will be flagged off from Imphal tomorrow.
Speaking to media, persons at Hotel Classic Grande today, Director of Adventures Overload Private Ltd, Sanjay Madan said that the 49 days trip will cover a total of 16,000 kilometres and 18 countries.
Sanjay pointed out that this will be the third time the company is flagging off such a trip from Imphal.
The company had already organised Imphal-Bangkok trip in 2013 and Road to London 2017, he added.
Another Director of the company, Tushar Agarwal explained that a total of 29 individuals, including three company personnel, will take part in the trip which will utilise 15 SUVs.
Four of the participants are solo travellers, he added.
All the necessary preparations, including assigning specific escort guides for each countries, have already been made.
As soon as the convoy reaches London, in the first week of June, the participants along with the vehicles will return by ship.
He also informed that Chief Minister N Biren has agreed to flag off the trip from Classic Hotel at 8 am tomorrow.
Speaking to media persons, Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand, Isra Stapanaseth said that he will take part in tomorrow's function as well as receive the convoy in his country.
A networking dinner will be organised for the convoy and various cultural programmes based on Tak and Chiang Khong of Thailand will be showcased as well, the Director added.
