Imphal, September 14 2024:
In connection with the prevailing conflict in the state which has been raging on for more than a year, Good Governance Party (GGP) has posed eight questions to the state government.
According to a statement released to the press by its secretary Angom Chanu Linthoingambi on Saturday, GGP questioned how long the Manipur government will continue to wait for a go-ahead from the Central government.
It asked whether banning internet and servers is the solution to the on-going conflict in Manipur.
It further questioned where the assurances by Modi government to bring a solution to Manipur's issues as part of its 100-day programme have gone, while wondering how long the people of Manipur are expected to wait for the chief minister and ruling MLAs to wake up from their slumber.
"In addition, a nine-month foetus inside the womb was killed.
Is it the fault of the policy/programmes of the government? Where has the CM's morality gone in this matter? Furthermore, where has the government's Raj Dharma gone when illegal immigrant terrorists are not even sparing the women, young and elderly? Who is the one truly in control of the state government? Is Chanakya Niti in effect in Manipur? Where have all the ruling MLAs gone when the state is becoming a graveyard?" GGP questioned.
The statement continued that questions are not for gaining political mileage but urging the government to stop exchanging life for money.
Keeping an allegedly dead person in ICU on a ventilator to avoid causing any tension is not feasible acting in the long term.
As such, the director of RIMS should uphold his medical ethics and clarify the same at the earliest, the party demanded.
GGP also questioned why no police inquiry has been conducted into the gun attack at the residence of the party's president Yambem Laba on September 11, despite having filed a police report for the same.
It then called for all to question the matter and work in a united manner for the well-being of the state.
