Two Manipuri officers to get Sena Medal

Imphal, August 14 2022:
Two Manipuri officers in the Indian Army featured in the list of personnel announced by the Ministry of Defence on Sunday for decorating with Sena Medal (Gallantry) in connection with the 75th Independence Day celebration.
According to the list, the Sena Medal (Gallantry) would be awarded to Manipuri officers, 2 JAK LI Major Soubam Kinobabu Singh and 19 Battalion D JAK RIF Major Irengbam Vishal Meetei.
Major Soubam Kinobabu is an alumnus of Sainik School, Imphal and he joined the JAK Light Infantry of the Indian army through CDC in 2010.He is the eldest son of Soubam Manidutta Singh and Ibecha Devi (both deceased).
During his posting at Uri Sector LOC, he took part in Operation Bal-wan and eliminated an LET terrorist, while forcing another terrorist to surrender.
He was also awarded the gallantry medal last year for his bravery during the Operation Rhino.
On the other hand, 19 Battalion D TAK RIF Major Irengbam Vishal Meetei is the son of late Dr Ibohalbi Singh and I Nalini Devi of Irengbam Mamang Awang Leikai.
I Nalini is presently MLA of Oinam AC.
Meanwhile, SIB ACIO-II Oinam Stalin Singh also featured among the personnel to be honoured with presentation of medals announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
