Imphal, June 14 2014 : Education Minister M Okendro on Saturday called on the youth of the State to work towards bringing about a thriving society.

Speaking as Chief Guest of the 8th Kh Itocha Memorial Award Distribution function organized by Social Cultural & Development Organisation, Heirok at the auditorium of Shija Hospitals here, Minister Okendro appealed to the young students of the State to make their contributions towards shaping the society and making it a prosperous one.

Dr Kh Palin, Managing Director, Shija Hosptals & Research Institute, who was also present at the event, said that Kh Itocha Memorial Award is given to students of the State in recognition of their excellent performances in academic field.

Dr Palin said the award aims to help meritorious students in their studies.

Dr Jogindro, Medical Superintendant of Shija Hospitals also attended the function during which 34 medical and school students were honoured with Itocha Memorial Awards.
