MSF celebrates its 14th birthday

The 14th foundation day of Manipuri Students Federation (MSF) was celebrated at the community hall of Konjeng Hajari Leikai here today.
The occasion was marked by hoisting of MSF flag by veteran social worker Th Iboyaima and releasing of balloons with festoons inscribed with "Long Live MSF", "Long Live Manipur" .
Speaking on the occasion, KT Rehman, President of AMUCO, said that there can be peace, harmony and development in the state only if the student organizations confined themselves to the works of student community; the police personnel works sincerely for the security of the people without breaking any law and the CSOs work for the welfare of the people.
He also advised the student organizations of the state to exert pressure on the ruling government to include the stories of the martyrs of Manipur who sacrificed their lives for the state in the school syllabus.
Furthermore, Rehman appealed to the student organizations not to carry out bandhs and blockades in their quest for achieving some demands.

Social worker Th Iboyaima said that the students should do their duties with sincerity and honesty and worked hard to achieve their goal.
The function was also attended by Longjam Umakanta, President of MSF; former Presidents Ph Nando, Y Dhakeshore, Kh Gourachandra, S Sanjoy, Md Attabuddin, laishram Ibomcha and Ng Milan as presidium members.
The 14th foundation day of MSF was also celebrated along with a debating competition at the auditorium of Jiribam Higher Secondary School today.
Organised under the aegis of MSF, Special Branch, Jiribam, the celebration was attended by President of All Jiribam United Club Association (AJUCA) L Shantikumar Singh as Chief Guest, Presdient of MSF Special Branch (Jiribam) E Malemnganba Meetei as Functional President ex-President of MSF Jiri Branch M Shyamkumar Singh as Guest of Honour.
The celebration began with the key note address delivered by General Secretary of MSF Special Branch (Jiribam) M Kamal Singh.
In the debating competition which was held on the topic of 'Sarkargi Schoolsingda Afaba Maheiroi Puthokpa Ngamdribasi Sarkargi Thouwong Soibadagini', H Prem Singh of EYC Chandrapur won the first prize, E Lamjingbi Devi of Hiribam Hr Sec School won the second prize while H Joyshree Devi of Meiri Club won the third prize.
Consolation prizes were also given to student competitors who were within 4th to 10 position.
