Imphal, November 12 2019: The 9th death anniversary of Guru Y Sekho, organised by Guru Angou and Ibotombi Memorial Meitei Pung Arts Centre and Institute of Manipuri Performing Arts, was held at Madana Mohan Mandap, Laipham Khunou Mayai Leikai today.

The anniversary, which was organised under the sponsorship of Department of Art and Culture, GoM, was attended by Khurai Chingambam Leikai Pradhan L Kananbala as the chief guest while Lairikyengbam Leikai Pradhan H Tombi as the functional president and Department of Art and Culture retired programme officer Kh Momon Singh as the guest of honour.

Memorial Meitei Pung Arts Centre secretary Amusana, while speaking at the function, maintained that the death anniversary of Guru Y Sekho was organised to honour the Guru and his teachings, which inspired many Pung-students.

As a result of his dedicated teaching that his students are now able to go outside the State and showcase many performances, he added.

Amusana further stated that Guru Y Sekho played Pung till he was 74 years of age.
