Bishnupur, June 10 2021:
Consumers Club, Manipur's Bishnupur district branch president Laitonjam Brojen has expressed strong concern over disparity in the distribution of NFSA rice in Bishnupur district.
Addressing media persons in this regard on Thursday at Keinou Thongthak, Brojen said that disparity in distribution of NFSA rice ranging from 3kg to 5kg in different places of the district is causing confusion among the people and the Consumers' Club has received numerous complaints in this regard.
Consequently, DC Bishnupur has been urged to distribute the rice equally in all the places of the district, he said and observed that in-spite of the urgent need to have a food commission so that distribution of food could be controlled, agents and politicians siphon off rice quota of the people due to lack of attention from the authority concerned.
Brojen also demanded that state/district authority should monitor distribution of rice so that people get their entitled quota and appealed to all concerned to distribute NFSA rice sincerely so that people get their entitled quota.
Moreover, authority concerned should intervene to avoid any misunderstanding on rice distribution, the president said.
