Imphal, September 09 2024:
While pointing out that the education sector suffered badly in the last four-five years, first due to the Covid-19 pandemic and currently owing to the on-going strife in the state, All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association (AMRPSWA) has appealed to the state government and concerned stakeholders to help ensure a smooth academic calendar, free from disruptions.
In a release, AMRPSWA secretary P Romen Singh stated that despite challenges faced, the association along with like-minded organisations have been endeavouring to make education sector a free zone.
However, regardless of the efforts being made there seems to be certain elements determined to drag in educational institutions and incite the student community as and when socio-political problems grip the state, rued the secretary.
Stating that Class X and XII are important phases in school education where students will shape their future careers and life, he pointed out that several common exams are conducted for the students of Class X and XII in the month of September and October so that they are fully prepared for the common exam.
As such, it would be wrong to cause disruption to education sector during such times, Romen added.
Moreover, declaration of school holiday by the government to cover up shortcomings and organisations affecting functioning of educational institution in pursuance of their issues are not seen or done in any other country, he stated, while urging all concerned to ensure smooth academic calendar and free from disruptions.
