Imphal, December 08 2024:
Republican Party of India (RPI-Athawale) national general secretary Maheshwar Thounaojam has strongly called for the entire people of India to stand against Kuki terrorists and uproot them from the soil of the country.
Under the initiative of Maheshwar Thounaojam, RPI-Athawale began its sit-in-protest with the theme 'Save India, save Manipur from Kuki-Zo terrorists' in New Delhi from Sunday.
Many people from different parts of the country took part the protest.
Addressing the gathering at the protest venue, Maheshwar Thounaojam said there is no sign of resolving the violence in Manipur that has been going on for more than 19 months.
Dismissing repeated reportage of the mainstream media that the violence is between two ethnic communities, Maheshwar said that Myanmar-based Kuki terrorists are attacking India just like Pakistan attack India.
How can the attack using highly sophisticated weapons like drones and missiles be considered as ethnic violence, he rued.
Recently three children including an eight-month-old infant, and three innocent women were abducted and killed mercilessly by Kuki terrorists in Jiribam and all the 10 Kuki MLAs are behind the terrorists.
Kuki terrorists operate freely without any fear due to the backing of the MLAs and even one of the Kuki MLAs claimed in national media that Kukis killed all the six innocent children and women in Jiribam, Maheshwar Thounaojam said.
Asking as to why Kuki MLAs supporting terror acts not disqualified, Maheshwar Thounaojam said that prolonged silence and inaction of the Government of India angered the people of Manipur and compelled to think if they are not the citizens of India.
Many RPI-Athawale leaders from different parts of the country joined the protest and notable among them were RPI-Athawale Delhi leader Fakre Alam, Rumi Sharma from party's Assam unit, Kulwant Singh from Punjab, Rabi from Haryana, party's youth leader Pankaj Mina from Rajasthan and Bharatiya Chalak Ekta Sangh president Jitendra.
