Imphal, August 08 2024:
A team of Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS), Manipur; FOCS, Bishnupur District Committee and Manipur Women's Federation (MWF) today inspected the prefabricated house relief camp opened at Kwakta Sericulture Farm in Bishnupur District which has been flooded due to the breaching of embankment along Moirang River.
In a release, FOCS informed that about 30 rooms of three prefabricated house blocks were affected by the sudden flooding.
FOCS also expressed anguish at the plight of the inmates who had to wade in chest-deep water and salvage their household articles including clothes.
To provide some relief and alleviate the problems caused by the sudden flooding of prefabricated houses, the team distributed essential items such as rice, dal, potato, onion, etc to the conflict survivors staying there.
Furthermore, the team appealed to the State Government and District Administration to put more focus on alleviating hardships faced by the conflict survivors and take up initiatives for their welfare.
