NPF lauds PM for Naga Peace Accord

The Naga People's Front, Manipur State Unit has heartily welcomed the Naga Peace Accord signed between the Government of India and NSCN (IM) on August 3 and hailed the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi for his sincere effort to bring peace in the North East region.
Stating that many of the Indian leaders talk of peace but, very few truly work to bring peace, says Manipur unit NPF president Awangbou Newmai in a statement on Saturday.
The reality of the Naga Peace Accord and its signing has proved that the Prime Minister truly works for bringing about peace and prosperity in the country, it said.
August 3, 2015 has become a historic day for the whole country with the signing of the much-awaited Naga Peace Accord under the leadership of Modi after two decades of political dialogue, NPF said, adding the Prime Minister has a strong political will to solve the nearly a century old Naga political problem.
It also congratulated the collective leadership of NSCN (IM) Isak Swu, Th Muivah, Oto Kilonser and Naga Chief Negotiator for their selfless sacrifice for the cause of the people and also thanked the entire team for their sincere effort which has finally brought the light of peace which everyone is longing for.
NPF further wished everyone who has contributed in the signing of Naga Peace Accord.
The party also hoped that the Naga Peace Accord will bring a long lasting peace in the region and added that the signing of agreement heralds a new history of peace, prosperity and justice for all in the entire North Eastern region.
