Chaoba to don the role of BJP Natl Council member

Ex-MP Thounaojam Chaoba, who recently joined BJP, has been approved by the high command of party to contest for the post of President of BJP, Manipur State Unit and also be a member of BJP National Council.
According to party sources, a written notification in this regard has been served by Thawar Chand Ghelot, National Election Officer, BJP to its Manipur State Unit.
According to the notification, Thawar Chand Ghelot has appointed Rajya Sabha MP Prakash Javadekar as election observer of the Presidential election of State unit BJP.
Prakash Javadekar would be arriving at Imphal on December 16 and the election process would be wrapped up by December 17 .
Chaoba is a one of the known personalities among the national leaders of BJP as he has been associated with them as a Union Minister for State.
The success of BJP in the recent Panchayat election has been credited with the re-entry of Chaoba into BJP fold after a long gap.
The source further revealed that soon after the Presidential elections, there will be new recruitment of renowned politicians of the state including some of the sitting MLAs.
Chaoba would be competing for the post of President of BJP, Manipur State Unit along with incumbent President Shantikumar Sharma and Vice President Prof S Tikendra.
