10th Phyahriipya Niih celebrated

Imphal, January 07 2014: The 10th Phyahriipya Niih was celebrated at Phuba Village under Karong Assembly Constituency in Senapati district on January 5 .

The celebration was attended by MLA of Chandel A/C ST Nunghlung Victor as Chief Guest and President of Phuba Union DR Roson Duo as functional President, while MLAs L Dikho, K Thamarjit, P Brojen, Janghenlung Panmei, RK Imo and Dr V Alexander Pao attended as Guests of Honour.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Nunghlung Victor said that the rich heritage of Phuba Village must be preserved and promoted at the highest level.

The initiatives taken up by Phuba villagers are quite commendable and they would help to promote peace and harmony in the whole State.

The leaders of Phuba Village signed peace accords with leaders of 12 other villages and erected a memorial pillar in the village.

Various cultural items were also performed by the villagers during the occasion.
