TPR rises to 2.64 pc, highest in 15 days

The daily test positivity rate rose to 2.64 per cent on Monday, which is highest in the last 15 days, as government bulletins reported 29 new positive cases out of 1097 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
November 21 reported 4.26 per cent positivity rate while November 28 reported 2.55 per cent after which it slid down gradually with occasional spikes.
Monday also reported three death cases which took the cumulative number of fatalities to 1985 .
One of them was a resident of Imphal West and the other two from Imphal East.
One had received first dose vaccine while the other two were unvaccinated persons.
Meanwhile, the active caseload came down to 341 out of which 63 (18.48 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is no updated information on bed availability in different hospitals and Covid care facilities.
Out of the 16 districts, only six reported fresh Covid cases on Monday with Imphal West reporting highest cases at 11.In terms of positivity rate, Bishnupur district recorded highest single day positivity rate at 7.4 per cent while Senapati district recorded lowest positivity rate at 2 per cent.
So far, the state has recorded 95,989 positive cases and 1611 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic out of which 220 new cases and 10 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
A total of 184 new positive cases and eight fatalities have been reported during the current month.
According to official reports, all the 29 new positive cases (14 male & 15 female) are from among the general population and their samples were confirmed at RIMS (3), JNIMS (3) and other testing centres (23) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (9), Imphal West (11), Bishnupur (4), Chandel (1), Senapati (3) and Ukhrul (1) .
In the last 24 hours, 38 persons were discharged from home isolation (13), RIMS (1), JNIMS (3) and CCCs (21) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,25,389 (general population - 1,20,956 and CAPF personnel -4,433) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,23,063 (general population - 1,18,653 and CAPF personnel - 4,410) and number of active cases is 341 (general population - 323 and CAPF personnel - 18) .
The recovery rate is 98.14 per cent.
A total of 530 D-type and 260 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
With the administering of 3237 vaccine doses on Sunday the cumulative number of vaccinated persons has reached 12,91,309 which include 9,04,375 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (43,954), Imphal East (27,844), Thoubal (9481), Churachandpur (10,186), Kangpokpi (2787), Tamenglong (3284), Bishnupur (9217), Senapati (2247), Ukhrul(2997) Kakching (6441), Chandel (2359), Noney (1074), Tengnoupal (1077), Jiribam (1022), Kamjong (955) and Pherzawl (464) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (664), Imphal East (476), Thoubal (178), Churachandpur (162), Kangpokpi (62), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (192), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (44), Kakching (113), Chandel (41), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,409 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,756 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,60,263 tests per million population against the national average of 4,63,258 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.58 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1097 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 2.64 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity stands at 8.78 per cent.
