Imphal, July 05 2019: A team of District Police Imphal East, Heingang Police Station arrested two persons namely Shahanawaz Ansari (34), s/o Md Rafiq of Rahiman Colony, Delhi Bypass Road, Brahmapuri, Jaipur, Rajasthan and Md Ayub (32), s/o Alimuddin of Van Vihar Colony, Kachi Basti, Delhi Bypass Road, Jaipur, Rajasthan, who are involved in cheating innocent people by impersonating as one Dr Aarman of Manipal Hospital, Goa from their respective residences on June 22.The duo collected money from intending kidney donors in the name of registration fees for medical tests through online transaction.

The intending donors were made to deposit money in the bank account of Md Ayub, said a statement of W Basu Singh, SP, NAB, PRO, Police Department.

Stating that many people across the country were cheated and victimised by the two accused, police appealed all to be aware of fraudulent advertisement being circulated on the internet.

A case has been registered and investigation is on, said police.
