DESAM's panel discussion resolves to address disturbances

A panel discussion participated by various organisations were held at DESAM Headquarters on Sunday and resolved to fight against any disturbance from various elements in education sector.
All Manipur College Teachers' Association, Senior Citizen Forum Manipur, CBSE Monitoring Cell, All Manipur Elementary School Teachers' Association, All Manipur Recognised Private School Welfare Association and all Manipur Students' Guardian Organisation took part in the panel discussion.
The panel discussion resolved to pressurise the Government to formulate a long vision State education policy, to prevent the schools and institutes from disturbances by militants under SoO and surrendered militants, to make the organisations and associations relaxed the education sector whenever bandh, blockade or general strike is being called and make government to take up action against violation of the resolution, to appeal the armed militant not to disturb education sector seeking their coordination in making smooth running of education, to stop the practice of seeking help by various civil society organisation from institutes, to appeal the people working in education sector to honestly execute their duty and to maintain a good academic calendar.
Speaking to the media Moirangthem Angamba president of DESAM said that they have been organising various movement in appealing free zone for education since 2008 .
He also said that rally was organised at Bishenpur, Kakching, Imphal East and Imphal West from July 2 to July 4 appealing to make education a free zone.
