Tributes paid to '13 Martyrs', memorial unveiled

Thoubal, December 04 2024: The first death anniversary cum unveiling of a memorial of the '13 Martyrs', who were slain in between Leithao and Moltham villages in Tengnoupal district in 2023, was held at Andro Khunou Torongthel Kamu Koireng Integrity Park, Imphal East district on Wednesday.

Speaking to media persons in connection with the observance, the Athouba 13 Ningshing Thouram Lup convenor Laishram Ningthou informed that the solemn event was organised to honour the 13 youths who laid down their lives in the course of upholding the 'freedom of Manipur' .

Mentioning that they will continue to observe the death anniversary every year with public support, he also confided about Lup's plan to enhance the memorial site.

Ningthou also conveyed gratitude to all who had provided material and financial assistance in the development of the memorial and observance of the death anniversary, and the public who joined in paying floral tributes to the '13 Martyrs' .
