Consultation on Career Counseling held

Imphal, October 04 2014 : A day-long consultation meet on the theme 'The Importance of Career Counseling' was organized by Career Click in association with Manipur Institute of Management Studies (MIMS), Manipur University at the lecture hall of MIMS here today.

.PDhanakumar, Chairman of BSEM; Akbar Khan, co-partner of Careers Click and Dr L Memcha, Director of MIMS graced the occasion as Chief Guest, President and Guest of Honor respectively.

Addressing the gathering, P Dhanakumar observed that it is pertinent to conduct career counseling for students so as to give them proper guidance on which course they should pursue during their academic career to get suitable jobs.

He also exhorted the students to choose career which best suits to them as this will help them a long way in their future lives.

Saying that those people engaged in giving career counseling should be well knowledgeable and professional, he asserted that they should conduct career counseling taking into account the limitation of employment in the state, otherwise students may opt careers which are not suited to them.

The role of parents in choosing career of their children is also of paramount importance as they are the ones who know which career their children should opt and the reasons for it, he added.
