Imphal, September 03 2019: One Sub-Inspector, one Assistant Sub-Inspector and three Constables of Singngat police station have been suspended in connection with the death of one Ginlam Munluo alias Ginzalam (39) in Singngat sub-division of Churachandpur district.

The five police personnel have been placed under suspension on the charges of dereliction of duty and grave misconduct.

A departmental enquiry has also been instituted against them, informed a source.

The Churachandpur SP issued an order on September 1 in connection with the suspension and the departmental enquiry.

Ginlam was found hung to dead at a cowshed at Singngat in Sunday morning under suspicious circumstances.

In connection with the suspicious death, a mob even tried to storm Singngat police station.

Ginlam was found hung to death after he was arrested and released on Saturday on the charge of dealing with illegal drugs.
