Najma leads in extending Kut wishes

Governor Dr Najma Heptulla has conveyed her heartiest greetings to the people of the State, particularly brethren from the Kuki-Chin Mizo communities on the auspicious occasion of Kut Festival.
"The post harvest festival of the Chin-Kuki-Mizo Chavang Kut is celebrated across the State for thanksgiving and gratitude to the Almighty for a bountiful harvest", the Governor said.
She said that the festival witnesses the rich cultural items of different communities belonging to Chin-Kuki-Mizo and spreads the message of peace, communal harmony, friendship and brotherhood amongst various communities living in the North East in general and Manipur in particular.
She expressed hope that the festival will strengthen the age old tradition of peaceful coexistence among various communities in the State.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh has also conveyed his greetings to the people of Kuki-Chin-Mizo brethren on the joyous occasion of Kut Festival.
Saying that Kut Festival has become a prominent festival of the State, N Biren Singh added that the festival is about sharing, understanding, harmonious coexistence, cooperation and merriment.
The CM also exuded confidence that the celebration in its true spirit will help in ensuring peaceful coexistence among all the ethnic groups.
Conveying that Kut is an autumn festival of the Kuki-Chin-Mizo group, Speaker Yumnam Khemchand wished the brothers and sisters of Kuki-Chin-Mizo groups and the people of the State to bring forth a harmonious and peaceful coexistence amongst various communities in the State.
Health and Family Welfare Minister, L Jayantakumar Singh also conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the people of the State on the occasion of Kut Festival.
"With the advent of a new hope, let us strive to work for unity and peaceful coexistence among all the section of the society in the State", said the Minister.
Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen also extended her warm wishes to the people of the State, especially Kuki-Chin-Mizo (Zomi) brethren on the occasion of Kut celebration.
"May this festival brings a sense of unity, brotherhood, oneness, togetherness and play a significant role in promoting peace, solidarity, harmony, integrity and understanding among all the different communities of the State", the Minister said.
Works Minister Th Biswajit too extended his greetings to thepeople of the State on the occasion of Kut Festival.
He expressed hope and prayed to let the celebration of the festival spread the message of love, prosperity, communal harmony and brotherhood amongst the diverse ethnic communities inhabiting the State.
Major General KP Singh, IGAR (South) and all ranks of Assam Rifles force have also extended warm greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of "Kut Festival".
Kut, a post harvest festival is a thanksgiving festival to the Almighty for a generous and bountiful harvest and symbolizes compassion, gaiety and gratefulness.
The celebration has now transcended the Kuki-Mizo-Chin community to all the people of Northeast India.
The IGAR (S) wished all the people to join hands and work unitedly to bring everlasting peace and prosperity in Manipur by resolving differences and taking the path of non-violence.
