Bishnupur, July 31 2019: A selfie point made of plastic bottles was installed today at Loktak Inland Water Transport Complex, Sendra, Bishnupur district.

The selfie point was installed with the assistance of Geetanjali Laishram of Sunusiphai and friends under the aegis of PHED Bishnupur EE L Gokulchandra.

The selfie point is 10x10 feet made of 1,000 used plastic bottles with words "Re Use XOX Me" to give awareness to tourists visiting the Loktak lake to avoid littering and use of plastics that have the potential to harm the lake environment, said L Gokulchandra.

As a part of the installation programme, volunteers of Solid Waste Management Committee Sunusiphai also organised a cleanliness drive.

They cleaned roadside from Sendra to Moirang Keithel.

The installation ceremony was also attended by president Solid Waste Management Committee Sunusiphai L Shyamkumar Singh and secy Ch Bijando Singh.
