During inspection at BP No 78 near Tamil Temple, Tamil Sangam general secretary KBS Maniam told the UCM team that BP has been erected around 80 metres inside Manipur and hence the state lost vast area of land in the area.
After the inspection, Joychandra told media persons that it was very unfortunate that original positions of the disputed BPs along India-Myanmar border were found altered.
He said that it is the bounden duty of every citizen of the state to safeguard the land preserved by forefathers of the land while failure to protect the same will be seen as weakness of the people of the land.
He also said that UCM will continue to inspect more BPs along the Indo-Myanmar border so that disputed border areas are settled and factual accounts could be presented to people of the state.
