Nephew shoots uncles at Naoremthong

Imphal, June 30 2015 : Two brothers were shot and injured by one of their nephews at Naoremthong Khullem Leikai under Lamphel Police Station in Imphal West on Tuesday.

The duo is now undergoing medical treatment at Shija Hospital, Langol.

The incident happened at about 3:30 pm.

Reports said that Kh Jiten (38) shot his uncles, Kh Priyobarta (50) and Kh Krishnamohon (49) following a violent family feud.

One bullet hit Jiten's left chest while two others fractured Krishnamohon's both thighs.

Jiten was reportedly beating up his father named Kh Kendrajit at gun point over a property dispute when the two uncles interceded with them.

The frenzied Jiten allegedly fired shots at his uncles and fled the spot.

Jiten used a licenced .32 pistol in the shooting.

The police recovered one double barrel gun, one air gun and three swords from the house.

Whereabouts of the pistol used in the attack is unknown to the police.

Local residents said that in the past too he had made his presence felt with his licenced pistol.
