Two fresh cases take active case to 8

Imphal, May 31 2022:
With the detection of two more fresh cases of Covid-19 out of 118 samples were tested in the last 24, the number of active cases in the state reached eight.
The test positivity rate as on Tuesday evening was recorded at 1-69 per cent.
Of the two fresh cases, one each is from Imphal West and Imphal East districts.
All the eight active cases are in home isolation.
Till date, the pandemic has claimed 2120 lives including seven CAPF personnel and infected 1,37,236 individuals including 5,014 CAPF personnel.
The virus has claimed lives of 194 vaccinated people, out of which 61 had received second doses of Covid vaccine.
So far, the state has recorded 11,450 positive cases and 118 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 18 new positive cases and zero fatality.
Meanwhile, a total of 2422 vaccine doses were administered on Thursday which took the cumulative number of vaccinated population to 15,69,776, out of which 12,31,322 had received second doses and 97,184 had taken precautionary doses.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,228 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,699 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,19,793 tests per million population against the national average of 6,04,129 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent while the recovery rate stands at 98.45 per cent.
The cumulative positivity rate stands at 8.51 per cent.
