State logs 17 new cases, TPR rises

Imphal, December 30 2021:
As the state witnesses gradual rise in daily test positivity rate, Thursday reported 17 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1254 samples tested, registering a positivity rate of 1.36 per cent against 1.08 per cent recorded on Wednesday.
No new death case was reported on Thursday and the number of fatalities remains at 2002 .
In all, 12 patients were discharged from home isolation (6), JNIMS (4) and CCCs (2) in the last 24 hours while the active caseload rose to 190 out of which 15 (7.89 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is no updated information on bed availabilities in hospitals and Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, only five reported fresh Covid cases on Thursday.
So far, the state has recorded 96,378 positive cases and 1628 fatalities since the beginning of the second wa e of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 573 new positive cases and 25 fatalities out of which 93 new cases and 3 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, the 17 fresh cases included 13 people (5 male & 8 female) are from among the general population and 4 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were confirmed at JNIMS (3) and other testing centres (14).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (5), Imphal West (5), Thoubal (2) and Churachandpur (1) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,25,778 (general population - 1,21,338 and CAPF personnel - 4,440) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,23,586 (general population - 1,19,158 and CAPF personnel - 4,428) and number of active cases is 190 (general population - 183 and CAPF personnel - 7).The recovery rate is 98.26 per cent.
A total of 310 D-type and 31 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, 5003 vaccine doses were administered on Wednesday and the cumulative number of vaccinated people has reached 13,23,253 including 9,87,049 fully vaccinated ones.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (44,152), Imphal East (27,950), Thoubal (9496), Churachandpur (10,193), Kangpokpi (2793), Tamenglong (3284), Bishnupur (9240), Senapati (2249), Ukhrul (3000), Kakching (6452), Chandel (2367), Noney (1076), Tengnoupal (1078), Jiribam (1029), Kamjong (955) and Pherzawl (464) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (672), Imphal East (479), Thoubal (179), Churachandpur (163), Kangpokpi (62), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (194), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (44), Kakching (115) Chandel (41), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,534 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,869 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,70,479 tests per million population against the national average of 4,83,238 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.59 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1254 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 1.36 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity stands at 8.62 per cent.
