CCpur, March 30 2019:
The All Manipur Border Area Development Association has called on the BJP National General Secretary Ram Madhav in a bid to articulate their decision to boycott the party in the upcoming Parliamentary election, to protest the State Government's decision to clip their hands in implementing BADP schemes and to seek immediate intervention in resolving the issue.
The Association, in their memo to the BJP leader, said the State Government has issued a letter stating that BADP schemes costing upto Rs 5 lakh, in place of the existing Rs 20 lakh, could be only taken up by the Village Authorities.
Pointing out that another circular of the DC Churachandpur directed the village chiefs to donate land for execution of the schemes, the association added that the Government has completely neglected the repeated appeals of the association to cancel the said order.
As such, the association has taken up the decision to boycott the ruling party in the upcoming Parliamentary election, it stated.
However, at the same time it urged Ram Madhav to raise the matter with the State Government so that the letters and circulars are cancelled and the rights and dignity of VAs are respected.
