Biswajit lauds Letpao's decision

Imphal, December 29 2021: Works Minister Th Biswajit has lauded Water Resources minister Letpao Haokip's decision to leave National People's Party (NPP) and join Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) .

He made the statement during the conduct of a Kamal Sakhi Booth Sammelan programme organised by 5-Thongju BJP Mahila Morcha at Ningomthongjao community hall on Wednesday.

Speaking as the chief guest, Biswajit pointed out that BJP has brought huge developmental changes in the state and the country, making it one of the most trusted political parties out there.

As such, many people are continuously joining the party.

Lauding minister Letpao Haokip for making the decision to join BJP, the works minister assured of working with Letpao Haokip in carrying out developmental activities.

Questioning the works undertaken by the previous government, Biswajit enquired whether Congress had taken up any schemes or policy programmes for the welfare of the state, compared to what BJP has done till date.

BJP firmly believes that the country would develop if the womenfolk are empowered.

Even if the works undertaken have not been verbally mentioned, the many schemes and activities are proof of the party's resolve.

Thus, the BJP government needs to return to power for the future development of the state and its people, he contended.

Presided over by BJP Mahila Morcha Manipur Pradesh president Loteeka Leima, the programme was also attended by Morcha's Thongju Mandal president N Bandana; BJP Manipur Pradesh Mahila Morcha in-charge Meena Devi; Imphal East in-charge Chaoba Devi; BJP Thongju Mandal president L Tomba; BJP Imphal East District president December and Mahila Morcha Imphal East District president, M Nachom.

Later, the women of Thongju AC extended their full support to MLA Biswajit as the candidate from the constituency in the upcoming state assembly election.
