Imphal, September 29 2019: Stating that the recent incident of torching several houses at Makhan Khuman village under Senapati district was taken up to evict alleged encroachers from its land, Northern Maram People's Organisation (NMPO) cautioned that booking/arresting anyone involved in the incident will be considered as "prejudice".

A press release issued by NMPO also questioned if the State Government is only awaken to September 17 incident alone, but remains passive to other incidents, where villagers of Naojai Village were attacked allegedly by over 100 persons dressed in camouflage with sophisticated weapon.

It then urged the State Government to see the volatile situation with rationality and logic instead of succumbing to the pressure of one group.
