Imphal, November 28 2024: With the aim of promoting fitness and community engagement among the local youth, Assam Rifles conducted a mini marathon at Saibol Joupi village, Khengjoi sub division in Chandel district on Thursday.

The mini marathon conducted in two categories (10 Km for men and 05 Km for women) witnessed enthusiastic participation of around 131 youths, including children.

Prizes were distributed to the winners recognising their will and stamina and encouraging others to pursue a healthy and active lifestyle.

The event was organised as part of Assam Rifles' ongoing efforts to engage with the local community, promote social cohesion and support holistic development of local people was well-received by the local community, with participants and spectators alike praising the initiative, said a PRO IGAR (S) release.
