Imphal, September 28 2012:
Refuting the claim of the SFs that 12 cadres of the underground Kuki National Liberation Front (KNLF) had surrendered in the 'Home Coming' ceremony organised by the AR at IGAR (S) headquarters a couple of days back, the KNLF today dismissed it as fake, baseless, concocted and a mockery staged by the AR to tarnish the image of the outfit for their selfish interest.
A statement issued by the joint secretary, information and publicity dept of the KNLF, Sumand Kuki, termed the surrender ceremony as a 'dramatic scene' of the organisers to appease the Home Ministry of India while denying that none of its cadres surrendered before the AR.
Guided by strong believe that the outfit is fighting for the independence of Manipur from 'colonial Indian ruler,' wherein the Kukis would have an autonomy in their inhabited land, no KNLF cadres would simply surrender in the enemy's hand, the statement maintained.
It further stated that the Home Coming ceremony was the design of the AR in collaboration with some vested group leaders and businessmen by luring drug addicts, jobless street boys with money.
The AR officers carried out the plan totally for their own careers and promotion; the group leaders in SoO and businessmen for their well being and to cover up their wrong deeds (of breaking ground rules) and permission of drugs smuggling, the KNLF statement posited.
Alleging the AR of playing dual roles, the statement pointed out one of the reported findings of the anti-narcotic cell of the KNLF.
It stated that Letkhogin Haokip and Hatneikim of Moreh Ward No 1; Tomba of Wangjing; Laxmi and Jugnu, temporary residents of Moreh were caught while transporting a huge consignment of illicit drugs by the CO of 9 AR in the 2nd week of July this year.
They were freed later on payment of Rs 85 lakh and by supplying youth for surrender, it further alleged.
Vowing that the outfit would never forgive the fake surrendered persons in the name of the KNLF, the statement also imposed a capital punishment to them.
It further warned all concerned not to use the name of the outfit in such surrender ceremony or else they would face the music.
