India refutes Myanmar allegation on land encroachment

The 8th meeting of the Border Liaison Offices (BLOs) was held today at the conference hall of Moreh Trade Centre.
During the meeting, Myanmar team was led by U.Zaw Zaw, DC Tamu while Indian team was under Th.Chitaranjan Singh, DC Chandel.
The meeting discussed 18 points including the ICP and border controversies in Haolenphai village at border pillar no.76 .
Indian team leader Th.Chitaranjan Singh flatly denied the Myanmarese allegation that Myanmar territory has been encroached by India between border Pillar no.79 and 81 .
Regarding the arrest of 6 Meiteis who went for worship, the Myanmar team informed that they were coming to Myanmar for collecting old things, and have been sent to jail after arrest.
On the intrusion of Myanmar nationals to India by four-wheeler vehicles, Myanmar team requested Indian officials to issue entry ticket as Myanmar government does not give permission to them.
It even told India to arrest the intruders and handover them to Myanmar.
Regarding the reported arrests of 19 Myanmarese Nationals in Thoubal district and Imphal East district of Manipur, the Myanmar team urged to handover the arrested nationals.
However, the Indian team informed them that they were handed over to Home department.
The 11- member Myanmar team led by U.Zaw Zaw DC Tamu included PLC Khin mg thaw, commander Tamu District Police and Lt.Col Than Tun Oo, Commander LIR 347, while Indian team under Th.Chitaranjan Singh, DC Chandel consisted of RK.
