Imphal, November 27 2011:
Manipur is a state where there is no rule of law and where everyone enjoys exclusive freedom and does things as one wishes, observes Th Inaocha, spokesperson, Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress.
Addressing media persons at a press conference held at Manipur Press Club today, Th Inaocha said that the economic blockade which has been going on the state for the last four months is being overlooked by the State and the Central government, knowing fully well that it is an illegal act, thereby causing immense suffering to the people of the state.
The act itself is a very unfortunate act in a democratic country like India and the act should be condemned.
He further went on to say that the party is trying its level best to bring about a change in the society where such unwanted acts take place.
The party stands for the territorial integrity of Manipur and is also trying to bring about peace and solidarity among the different communities settled in the state.
The party is against the very idea of a "Supra State Body".
Trinamool Congress is well aware that the "Supra State Body" will create further misunderstanding and disintegration among the different tribes in the state.
Clarifying the allegations made to the President of Trinamool Congress Manipur Pradesh, Kim Gangte by Dr Nando, he said that the party is not associated with any particular religion or tribe.
The party is for all the communities settling in the state.
All the allegations labeled on Kim Gangte are baseless.
As the President of the Party, she never sided with the demands made by the Sadar Hills District Demand Committee.
But she definitely did talk with the state government to bring about a solution to the issue.
