Training prog commences

Imphal, March 26 2018:
A two day training programme on "Scientific Rearing and Management of Improved Poultry Birds" and "Hands-on Demonstration of Micro Rain Water Harvesting Unit" was held at CWG-office Lhunnajang village, Tengnoupal Sub-Division today.
The training was organized by KVK Chandel in collaboration with Centre for Women and Girls (CWG) under the sponsorship of TSP, ICAR Meghalaya, reports our correspondent.
More than 35 local farmers from different villages participated in the training programme.

Dr A Ammeta, ACTO (Animal Science), KVK, Chandel stressed the need for scientific methods of Poultry rearing to increase the farmer's income through sustainable income generation.
Dr K Sonamani Singh, ACTO (SWCE) elaborated on the need for harvesting of rain water at the right place to reduce water scarcity.
The farmers were briefed on the utility of Jalkund for facilitating life-saving irrigation during water scarce periods.
Hechin Haokip, secretary CWG also attended the program.
An interactive session was held after the technical inputs from the resource persons.
A team of officials will visit the farmers field tomorrow.
