District level book fair concludes

The 3-day long district level book fair cum quiz, debate and essay competition 2013, concluded along with distribution of prizes to the winners during a ceremony at Maha Union Govt Higher Secondary School, Japhou today.
The event was organized by District Level Committee, RMSA, Chandel since October 22 along with organising essay competition and preliminary written round of the quiz competition.
The Book Fair was inaugurated on October 24 by Zonal Education Officer F Lalzuithangi who is also the Member Secretary of the District Level Committee (DLC), RMSA as Chief Guest of the inaugural function with K Shangkham, Principal of the school as Functional President.

The closing cum prize distribution ceremony was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Chandel Th Chittaranjan Singh IAS and Principal of Maha Union Govt Higher Secondary School K Shangkham as the Chief Guest and President respectively.
Staffs of RMSA and SSA Chandel, students and staffs of participating schools also attended the function.
The Debating competition was held today on the topic of 'The growing trend of tuition in Manipur is spoiling the present generation of students' with Assistant Professor of United College Dr H Thongrong, Assistant Inspector of School Lh Moses of ZEO Chandel and Science Supervisor H Khamba Maring of ZEO Chandel as panel of Judges.
In the quiz competition, Oriental Academy bagged the first position while St Peter's School and Angam Memorial School bagged the second and third position respectively.
They were respectively awarded with a cash prize each of Rs 4500, Rs 2500 and Rs 1500 and certificates.
St.
Peter's School's students Kt Hmanni and Nl Delisa won the first and second position respectively while Angam's Memorial School's student Nemneihling Mate won the third position in the essay competition.
They were awarded a cash prize each of Rs 4500, Rs 2500 and Rs 1500 and certificates.
In debating competition, St Peter's School's student Lh Everhring bagged the first position while St Joseph's School's student Huten Ruwnghman Anal and again St Peter's School student Rt Shangwarhring won the second and third position respectively.
They were awarded a cash prizes each of Rs 4500, Rs 2500 and Rs 1500 and certificates.
Chief Guest of the function Th Chittaranjan Singh IAS, DC Chandel, President of the function K Shangkham, Principal and ADPM RMSA CDL P Pratibha gave away the prizes to the winners.
