Imphal, September 25 2019: Atleast 8 rooms of a house located at Sagolband Ingudam Leikai, were gutted at around 1.45 pm today.

According to a source from the incident site, the freak fire started from one of the 8 rooms located on the second floor of a house belonging to one Khumbongmayum Gojendro (53) .

The rooms, which were rented out to three families, were all made of wood, the source added.

The fire intensified after two LPG cylinders exploded, the source informed adding that Manipur Fire Service teams promptly arrived at the scene and were able to save the first floor of the house and the adjacent buildings.

However, all the 8 rooms were gutted.
