Doctors wanted in Tengnoupal Public Health Centre (PHC)

Imphal, September 25 2012: With doctors remaining absent from their duties at the Public Health Centre (PHC) of Tengnoupal under Chandel district for the last three months, the people of Tengnoupal have suffered like hell.

Talking to Hueiyen Lanpao, H Thangkhulen Mate, Village Chief of Tengnoupal informed that since the doctors who are supposed to be present on duty in the PHC remained absent for the last three months, it has become very difficult for the villagers to get treated in case of sickness.

He further informed that the people of the village have to go all the way to Kakching to get treated in spite of the existence of a PHC in Tengnoupal.

This has created a lot of problem for the villagers during times of emergency.

The village authority had earlier approached the concerned authorities to look into the matter.

However, no steps have been taken up in this regard so far, the Village Chief lamented.

He also informed that there is lack of water supply and electricity in the village.
