All the three chicken centres in Kangpokpi areas were being supplied chickens from Avian House, Khonghampat Imphal West.
However, after this house stopped supplying poultry products, there has been shortage of chicken in Kangpokpi and its surrounding area.
Deben explained that unavailability of poultry products is mainly due the poultry farms based outside the state, which have taken control over of the market and raised the price of chicken at their own sweet will.
Deben has also drawn the immediate attention of the authorities concerned over the issue.
