Repairing of 0-3.22 km stretch along Imphal-Jiribam road over: CM

Imphal, July 24 2014:
Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh today informed the State Assembly that repairing of Imphal-Jiribam road starting from 0 km to 3.22 km has been completed under the State Public Works Department (PWD) .
Replying to questions put up by MLA Shyamkumar on road repairing works along Imphal-Jiribam highway during the question-answer session of the Assembly today, Ibobi said that repairing work along the road which falls under the jurisdiction of PWD has been completed and informed that work for repairing the road stretch from 3.22 km to 222 km is the responsibility of the Border Road Organization (BRO) .
While responding to query raised by MLA Joykishan, PHED Minister I Hemochandra said that the Sewerage Project work was started from 2003 with funding from France.
The French Government has provided materials needed for the project worth Rs 41.54 crore so far, he added.
The Minister further informed that most of the work for phase I of the project has been already completed and an official team of M/S Accuea Technique and M/S Degremont of France which are the two consultants of the project arrived in the State to inspect the ongoing work of the project.
Responding to question asked by MLA RK Imo, Agriculture Minister Abdul Nasir said that the Agriculture Department has been selecting 19 State nominees every year for undergoing Agriculture Technical Degree Course and providing monthly stipend of Rs 200 to each of the selected nominee.
He assured that his department will try to increase the stipend amount.
