MAHUD Minister Henry Okram has informed that the Waste-to-Power Plant at Lamdeng will be inaugurated soon.
While inspecting the Solid Waste Management Plant at Lamdeng, today, the Minister said that the Waste-to-Energy Plant will be dedicated to the public soon after due consultation with Chief Minister N Biren Singh.
He mentioned that the power plant would produce 600 KW of electricity in the first phase.
The Government has successfully carried out the trial of the power plant and is awaiting the approval of the Government of India for the inauguration.
The Minister also said that the Government will set up a mini Solid Waste Management Plant nearby so that more wastes can be treated resourcefully.
During the visit, Henry Okram also heard the grievances of the people residing in and around Lamdeng area.
He assured them that the Government will do the needful at the earliest.
Director MAHUD Th Harikumar, and representatives of the local clubs accompanied the Minister during the inspection.
